Carbon Fascism, Where it Came From – Part II of II
This is part two of two in a series on local planning organizations, federal funding and Agenda 2030 in Alaska
Our representative government, as per plans from the ‘90s, has been effectively dissolved. I have yet another stark and immediate example of how “we know” this is true.
An upcoming meeting was announced by AMATS. AMATS is the acronym for the Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions. For those not familiar with the process, the State of Alaska’s Department of Transportation effectively turns over most decision making and planning to this local entity. The decision-making body for this bureaucratic runaway is the DOT&PF Central Region Director who chairs it, the Mayor of Anchorage as the Vice Chair, two municipal assembly representatives (God help us) and the DEC Statewide Air Quality Director (you read that correctly).
At the meeting for July 13th for planning and facilitating transportation there is this weird topic on carbon reduction. Yes, carbon reduction is a major meeting topic for the people who are supposed to be planning, designing, maintaining and operating our transportation sector for this state. One would think that the DOT would be utilizing money a transportation plan that makes for safe transportation that ensure freedom of movement and commerce. Well, the gentle readers would apparently be mistaken.
The federal government has printed up a pile of money (your grandkids can thank us for their indentured servitude) called the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. To the greatest amount of dismay our legislature has left us naked to this fascism and approved this legislation. A great gob of this money has been allocated to each state under the name of “Carbon Reduction Program.” There are guidelines and rules to get this pile of money. For Alaska, it’s a bit over $81M. $6.42B overall, and this does NOT include the Carbon Management “provisions” - add another $12.1B to the backs of our grandchildren for that. This figure includes the ever-fraudulent 45Q tax credit.
The guidelines for this program read like a carbon fascist dream come true and a punchlist for progressive policies. There are so many progressive stipulations to this act that our people would NEVER agree to, yet here we are, subjected to it one and all without the protection of any processes whatsoever other than begging the bureaucrat’s intent on increasing their bureaucracies to not take this money, and more importantly, not to implement the fascist guidelines to get it.
Note that these are federal guidelines, not legislation. Note that these are things to be done to the citizens of Alaska and the USA, not for them.
For review, a few of the guidelines: To support congestion pricing, shifting demand to nonpeak hours or other modes of transportation, increasing vehicle occupancy rates, or otherwise force reduction in demand for roads including electronic toll collection and travel demand management strategies.
All of this money, effort and forced manipulation of the people of Alaska is for no known effect to the climate. This requires adherence to the unproven and contentious belief in the carbon control narrative. It is many Alaskans’ belief that the entire carbon control narrative is, and as evidenced by these carbon control guidelines, about controlling people, not the climate.
Other conditions supplanting government and constitutional protections are encouraged unionism, prevailing wages, intrusive vehicle to infrastructure communications requirements and equity requirements.
This program is the love child of George Orwell and Benito Mussolini’s broadest imaginations. Only a few activist Alaskans would want this for us all. We use, harvest, mine, pump, and export carbon. Our livelihoods depend on it. All of our goods, services and freedoms require carbon. The goal of reducing carbon is to reduce us, our freedoms, our supplies, our transportation, and our livelihoods. A large part of us IS carbon!
To add, the transition mentioned in the guidelines is a fictitious one that the known mineral reserves do not exist on this planet to enable. The alternatives imagined to strip us of our personal transportation simply do not exist. The inflation, supply chain disruptions and shortages, and time wasted will only grow.
The freedom to travel is a Constitutional Right as enumerated in Thompson v. Smith states: “The right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, in the ordinary course of life and business, is a common right which he has under the right to enjoy life, liberty, to acquire and possess property, and to pursue happiness and safety. It includes the right in so doing, to use the ordinary and usual conveyances of the day, and under the existing modes of travel, includes the right to drive a horse drawn carriage or wagon thereon or to operate an automobile thereon, for the usual and ordinary purpose of life and business.” Thompson Vs. Smith also states Citizens have a right to drive upon the public streets of any city absent a constitutionally sound reason for limiting their access.”
Caneisha Mills vs. D.C. 2008 states “The use of the automobile as a necessary adjunct to the earning of a livelihood in modern life requires us in the interest of realism to conclude that the RIGHT to use an automobile on the public highways partakes of the nature of a liberty within the meaning of the Constitutional guarantees.”
Berberian v. Lussier states “The right to operate a motor vehicle upon the public streets is not a mere privilege. It is a right of liberty, the enjoyment of which is protected by the guarantees of the federal and state constitutions.”
Adams v. City of Pocatello “A traveler has an equal right to employ an automobile as a means of transportation and to occupy the public highways with other vehicles in common use.”
Sieon v Lindsay states “The RIGHT of the citizen to DRIVE on the public street with freedom from police interference, unless he is engaged n suspicious conduct associated in some manner with criminality is a FUNDAMENTAL CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT which must be protected by the courts.
People v. Horton “the right to make use of an automobile as a vehicle of travel along the highways of the state, is no longer an open question. The owners thereof have the same rights in the roads and streets as the drivers riding a bicycle or traveling in some other vehicle.”
All of this discussion is predicated on the need to reduce carbon. If we reject that programmed dictum, all the rest goes away.
These are but a few judgements that support the fact that personal transport is a freedom and a right. I implore and caution any and all to not imagine nor act otherwise.
For obvious reasons,

Update: After writing most of this, I did have the opportunity to attend the AMATS technical advisory committee meeting. I’ll sum up my takeaways bullet point style for clarity.
Hardly any citizens showed up. Five in total I believe - all of which were connected to informing friends of friends (all concerned citizens) This is distressing, but expected I suppose, it is right in the middle of the afternoon. More importantly, no AMATS policy committee members (final decision makers) showed up. None.
The technical advisory committee members seem all in gleeful, fascist mindset on agreement to the mission at hand. The entire room was an expensive tax paid syndicate of the true useless eaters, people who create and build nothing, serve no useful purpose other than being apparatchik minions to the carbon fascism implementation on us all. One brilliant public servant even had the completely unrelated brain fart of a question of why we don’t have to have our vehicles emissions tested anymore? It would be a stretch to imagine this gaggle of Mensheviks building so much as a grass hut and they’re supposed to be in technical advice for transportation infrastructure? Governor Dunleavy claimed to be the omnipotent ruler and appointer of bureaucrats in Alaska. I have a pro tip for him: Clear the rolls, START OVER! I did have the opportunity to comment on their proceedings. When I was done, all I received was blinking stares of shock and passive aggressive disengagement. One and all, we have bureaucrats who accept this mission as totally acceptable. Carbon fascism.
I did the math, and another attendee confirmed that this effort is centered around ten percent of the state’s carbon emissions, ground transportation. No further study comments by DOWL, the NGO preparing the propaganda for selling this to the AMATS board, dissolved this down to government vehicles, personal vehicles, industrial vehicles. But the TAC and DOWL’s comments for a path forward involve two main points - get people out of their cars and electrify all else. That seems to be the mantra. For one of my comments, I stated that this was all about ten percent of the carbon, and this is a small city. This is to zero effect on global carbon reduction. That’s when they blinked like frogs in a pond at me. I also brought up that the whole subject of forcing people’s travel mode was unconstitutional and stated that I had case law to back this up. One of the Dowl people quickly gave me his card and asked for those references. I find it disturbing that anyone tasked with such an endeavor doesn’t understand their basic constitutional rights. We will supply those references to them. Perhaps we can break them from their carbon fascism.
When I opened with my comments, I stated that I didn’t see any bicycles or EVs out front - yeah, I’m a smartass. After the meeting, one of the members walked by and made some excuse why he drove his Subaru to the meeting. The irony was still lost on the fascist fool.
I had a conversation with one of the attendees who had the opinion that if we had concentrated housing and rapid transit, people wouldn’t need cars. It’s so odd to think of others in a command and control manner like that, unless you’re a fascist. A few of the DOWL employees were listening to our discussion, I stated that there’s no limit to making people do what you want with other people’s money. I asked them what it would be like for an elderly couple like me and my wife in January here. What would a trip to the doctor’s office be like for us? I asked them to imagine what it’s like here in the winter with the plans they imagine. I got the same blinking silence. Carbon fascists.
The plans are varying, from fining, feeing, warping the DOT’s project load to force compliance, but make no mistake about it, the goals are the same. They want you out of your cars. Carbon fascism.

The blind supporters of this movement have no independent thinking capabilities and are likely mentally ill. You can’t have an adult conversation with them if differing points of view as they only see and know what is regurgitated for them. It’s truly an astounding condition if todays members of society - of which they don’t consider us working stiffs a part.
David, thank you for this report. It appears to me the people of this sort have no critical thinking skills. Do they only stay in their “group think” of other folks & try to competitively come up with the next hair brain idea to win the prize (government subsidies), taxpayers money? This is appalling!
